Laboratory of Language Analysis and Resources (LARL)
Description and objectives
The Laboratory of Language Analysis and Resources was established to host and provide access to key electronic resources used in linguistic studies, developed both at the University of Pavia and in other research centers. These resources include synchronic and diachronic corpora of written and spoken language, several specialized corpora and databases created by the department’s staff, as well as text-search software and linguistic databases.
Discorsi sul metodo
In connection with LARL and the “Laboratory of Linguistic Data Analysis” course, and in collaboration with PhD candidates in Linguistics, an annual seminar series titled Discorsi sul metodo ‘Discourses on the Method’ is organized.
The aim of these seminars is to foster open dialogue in an informal setting between students and early-career researchers interested in linguistics, encouraging discussion and exchange on linguistic research methodologies. During these seminars, PhD candidates present to MA students the methodological challenges they encountered in developing their research projects, along with the strategies and tools adopted to address them.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, four meetings are scheduled, to be held every Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., starting April 29.
